Tips on Using this Spanish Promotional Planner
We all know that soccer is a very popular sport among Hispanics. Gold Cup is a regional tournament for teams/countries of the CONCACAF which include: Haiti, Canada, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guadalupe, Guatemala, El Salvador, Trinidad & Tobago, Honduras, Cuba, and Panama. Gold Cup 2007 (held alternately in different countries every two years) will take place in United States from June 6 to June 24 and the matches will be held in Miami, New York/New Jersey, Boston, Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago; making this tournament one of the most important soccer competitions for Hispanics in the Unites Sates during the present year. Millions of Hispanics will watch the Gold Cup games at home or at commercial venues where the consumption of alcohol is likely to occur. In many instances, these gatherings will involve the combination of drinking and driving and may result in fatal crashes and injuries.

The Gold Cup 2007 media planner provides tools and templates that can be used in educational programs to discourage people from driving while impaired. These materials can be tailored to fit your local needs and objectives while partnering with other states, communities and organizations to reduce impaired driving crashes, fatalities and injuries.

The planner includes messages and templates that you may choose from to support your impaired driving initiatives during the Gold Cup. You may use the materials to reinforce our message "Los Aficionados No Dejan Que Los Aficionados Manejen Borrachos" (Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk).

Please refer to the "Thought Starters" to select, tailor, and distribute this planner according to the particular needs of your local Hispanic communities.
