National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA)

NHTSA has developed a centralized list of CPS inspection stations throughout the United States where child safety seats may be inspected by certified child passenger safety technicians. Through this service, parents and caregivers can find child safety seat child passenger safety inspection stations like those operated by fire stations, hospitals and law enforcement agencies throughout the country. The information is available through NHTSA’s web site (www.nhtsa.dot.gov). Individuals can search for inspection locations by state or zip code. For consumers without Internet access, the information can be obtained through the Department’s Auto Safety Hotline (1-888-DASH-2-DOT, or 1-888-327-4236). The NHTSA Regional Offices continuously update the information to insure its accuracy.
