Instructor Selection, Training, and Evaluation
- State certification or approval is required for Instructors and Chief Instructors. Instructors must have current certification from the MSF or another national certifying body.
- Program is to include Instructor training. Prescribed Instructor training and approval standards must meet or exceed the MSF’s.
- There is no probation or internship requirement for Instructors.
- State offers Instructor Preparation Course (IPC).
- Annual updates are required for Instructors. Instructors are monitored annually by chiefs and State coordinators.
