We expect a great deal from our law enforcement officers. We ask them to be a counselor, teacher, medical technician, social worker, psychologist, mentor, and negotiator, and then we expect them to enforce the laws. We want officers to do something about people in our community who are driving impaired, speeding, running stop signs, etc., as long as they do not stop us. Law enforcement officers nationwide deserve a thank you for everything they do to improve our quality of life.

This Campaign Safe and Sober planner is devoted to enforcement programs. Law enforcement is critical to every successful traffic safety program. The law enforcement community is a partner in Safe Communities, impaired driving, occupant protection, speed, aggressive driving, motorcycle, pedestrian, and bicycle programs.

The materials in this planner were developed to assist officers as we move into the 21st century. They will assist in conducting projects, developing articles for newsletters, identifying additional resources, determining training needs, and developing hand-out materials for law enforcement officers and administrators.
