NEW-Aggressive Driving and the Law: A Symposium was held in January 1999 to address this U.S. Department of Transportation priority. The symposium was held with key partners from the judicial, prosecutorial, defense bar and law enforcement communities to focus on legal issues associated with aggressive driving offenses. As a follow-up, NHTSA and the Federal Highway Administration convened an implementation group consisting of the symposium moderators to review and work toward implementing the recommendations from the symposium.
